and raised in Yauco, Puerto Rico. He was assigned to the 319th Airborne
Field Artillery Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Vicenza, Italy. Died on June
8, 2005. Hernandez died in Shkin, Afghanistan, when his helicopter-landing zone
came under enemy fire.
