Called El Pueblo de las Indieras , Maricao was founded in 1874
 by Bernardo Collado, Julián Ayala, Francisco M. Sojo Napoleón Pietri and Leoncio S. Martínez.

Maricao Fish Hatchery

A warm water hatchery releasing more than 200,000 fish

Coffee Harvest Festival

Annual festival marking the end of the coffee harvest.
Arts and crafts, live folk music, and typical food. Exhibitions
of past and present coffee cultivating and harvesting

On a clear day you can see Mona Island from the
