Called La Ciudad del Mundillo, Moca was founded in 1772 by José de Quiñones.

Antiguo Castillo Meléndez

This group of buildings, resembling a
 medieval castle, was originally built
by Dr. Meléndez to serve as a clinic it is now a hotel.

El Merendero
An excellent lookout point. On your right you can see Mona Island.
Straight in front of you is the valley and Moca.

Hacienda Enriqueta
By appointment.
A privately owned museum of colonial
 artifacts located at the entrance to town.

Historic Iron Bridge
This 100-year-old bridge, about 3 Km south
 of Moca, was used by the sugarcane
trains and is still in use today as a one-lane
auto/pedestrian bridge. It has an all-rivet
construction typical of the day.

This is a very important historic structure and facility in
 western Puerto Rico. The well-maintained French
 provincial-style mansion stands on 110 acres and is on
the National Historic Register. On the grounds
 (at the east end) is a protected sanctuary for
endangered bird species. In front of the mansion is an
old train engine from the  sugarcane era. On the weekends
you can see ultralights flying from the dirt landing strip
on the south end of the property. A new
entrance south from Rt 2 at Km 115.9 was just built.

Parque La Moca

This is a major sports park in Moca with a large pool,
 basketball courts, a tennis court, sand volleyball
court, batting range, gym, physical
 training, gazebos and food vendors.

Plaza de Recreo de Moca

On or adjacent to the plaza you will find the
Monument to the Lace Weaver, the Nuestra
Señora de la Monserrate and a number of
retail stores offering the famous Moca Lace.
