Luis Rene Alicea is married to Robin...the couple has 2 children, Ryan Luis (12-8-92) and Alana Nicole (8-19-94).
Graduated from Liceo International Castro High School in Rio Piedras, P.R. in 1983...lettered in baseball and track...also participated in Little League, Mickey Mantle, Colt, Pony, Babe Ruth and American Legion programs.
Starred for 3 seasons at Florida State University, earning 1st-team All-America honors in 1986.
His brother, Edwin, also played 2nd base at Florida State and was selected by Atlanta in the 9th round of the 1988 June Free Agent Draft.
Participated in the Royals and Kansas City Chiefs "Operation Blessing" event last summer, which fed more than 1,000 people in Wyandotte CountY.
