Began the season seeing most of his time off of the bench before getting more regular action as injuries mounted . . . started nine games as a second baseman, 33 as a third baseman and nine as a shortstop . . . came on strong in the latter portions of the season hitting .310 (39-126) from August 1 through the remainder of the schedule . . . posted impressive numbers in the second half hitting .296 with three home runs and 13 runs batted in . . . equaled career mark with four hits (4-5) on July 7 at San Francisco . . . started to get regular playing time starting in August . . . batted .299 in August and .346 in September . . . hit .322 in September/October.
